Weight Loss Tips for Teens

Cullen Meyer began gaining weight in about the third grade when he was capable of finding his own treats. He ate as much as he wanted. Cullen weighed around 250 pounds at his heaviest as a freshman at Nicolet High School.

Cullen lost that weight and has written a book titled "I Was a Teenage Loser, You Can be One Too" to help others in a similar battle. (Read School for Overweight Teens)

The book emphasizes a teen’s needs to be their own advocate; they must internalize for themselves healthy eating information and personally resolve to apply that knowledge to their eating choices.

His book
gives a teen all the basics they need to get started. But the book also suggests that a teen expand their nutritional knowledge through other reputable sources, including the Internet, news articles, magazines, and pertinent books.

While help and support are important and can be positive, a healthy eating lifestyle is a choice that every teen
is going to have to make and maintain on their own.

Ultimately, a teen makes the choice of what does or does not go into their body.

The book retails for $12.95 on Cullen’s Web site. The site is the main outlet to buy the book. Cullen also just got clearance to sell his books locally through Harry W. Schwartz book stores.
